WESCO DROPS ANCHOR IN LÜDERITZ

The increased commercial activities in particular within the industrial sectors, has convinced the WESCO group to establish and expand their operational base within the townlands of Lüderitz. This investment compliments the vision of the Lüderitz Town Council, as the town positions itself strategically as the Mecca for trade, commerce, logistics and industrialization within Namibia and Southern Africa. The entity directly employs sixty staff at its base in Lüderitz, within their waste management and engineering space; WESCO’s presence has revitalized the local economy, creating a ripple effect that boosts local accommodation, retail, and service sectors, bringing both revenue and vibrancy to the Lüderitz community. Through WESCO’s involvement, Namibia’s oil and gas sector has a dependable partner, ready to meet the industry’s demanding standards with expertise, precision, and unwavering commitment. The First Servant His Worship, the Mayor Hon. Cllr. Phillippus Balhao stated that, “In Lüderitz, the ocean is life.
