The ambitious targets set by the Council in its infrastructure overhaul and townland expansion, require both applied minds and financial muscle in order to attain the set objectives. These undertakings are poised to position the town of Lüderitz as the investors dream, with ample amenities for current and aspiring residents, whilst balancing the future plans; Council is occupied with guaranteeing that the current needs in terms of service delivery are met through rigorous analysis and prudent resource management. The Development Bank of Namibia engaged Council on the 29 October 2024 as part of its stakeholder engagement and voiced their desire to become Council’s socio-economic development partner, through offering aid to ensure land delivery through infrastructure funding that will bring Council’s pursuits to successful fruition. Council informed the Bank that, the current plans of servicing the identified three thousand erven to alleviate the housing crisis in town would be a low hanging fruit that could be financed, to kick-start their partnership. The Bank has since 2004 offered financing to the tune of Twenty Billion Namibian Dollars and has partnered with various Local Authorities to roll-out their development agenda’s, and would like to enlist the Council as a client.
